Tara Hughes’ career in finance has been shaped by a lifelong drive to understand the big picture and help others navigate it with confidence. With a background that spans internal auditing, accounting management, and financial leadership roles, Tara brings both depth and versatility to her work. However, it wasn’t until she discovered wealth management that everything truly came together.

Originally earning her degree in Accounting with a minor in Finance from WVU Tech, Tara began her professional journey in traditional finance roles. Along the way, she realized her passion wasn’t just in numbers; it was in using those numbers to empower people. That insight led her to financial planning, where she could blend her technical expertise with the kind of client relationships that bring lasting impact.

In 2022, she joined BlueSky Wealth Advisors as a Senior Wealth Advisor. Today, based in New Bern, North Carolina, she applies her Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Personal Financial Specialist (PFS), and Chartered Global Management Accountant (CGMA) designations to help clients align their financial strategies with their goals and values.

Why BlueSky?
