About You
- You have a bachelor’s degree with a solid academic track record.
- You have at least 3-5 years of professional work experience.
- You have your CFP® designation or have completed the required coursework.
- You are eager to learn, familiar with the fee-only fiduciary model of delivering financial advice, and have a basic understanding of financial planning and investment management strategies.
- You are tech-savvy, proficient with Zoom and Microsoft Office, and interested in learning new tools. (Bonus points if you already have experience with MoneyGuideElite or Holistiplan.)
- You have a professional and knowledgeable demeanor.
- You have strong written and verbal communication skills.
- You are highly accountable and take pride in getting the job done right. You’re also open to coaching and mentoring to grow as an advisor and team member.

About the Position
- This is a client-facing role, and you will actively participate in all client planning meetings, email conversations, and conference calls in a supporting capacity.
- You will work in teams of 3 to serve our clients: a Senior Wealth Advisor, you, and a Client Service Specialist.
- You will gather, organize, enter, and synthesize client data for the client’s plan.
- You will execute assigned tasks in the client relationship management (CRM) software in a timely manner.
- You will assist Client Service Specialists in ensuring the accuracy of client details in the CRM.
- According to the actions assigned, you will maintain ongoing and regular contact and communications with the clients, other advisors, and the client service team.
- You will keep MoneyGuideElite, the client portal, Advisor Engine (formerly Junxure), and our Holistiplan software up to date with client information.
- You will maintain accurate and detailed notes of all client interactions and assist in implementing recommended strategies for clients.
- You will prepare client plans, financial scenarios, investment recommendations, and reports for review by the Senior Wealth Advisor or Wealth Advisor.
- You will conduct analyses on client-specific situations (e.g., mortgage refinance, employee benefits review, stock option plans, etc.) with the guidance and support of our more senior advisors.
- Once you’re up to speed, you will be responsible for all meeting preparation and follow-up. You will also learn to delegate non-advisory follow-up work to the client service or operations department.
- According to our client service level guidelines, you will respond to client inquiries and requests on time.
- You will stay current on changes in the marketplace and industry and propose adjustments to client plans and investment allocations accordingly.
- As you progress in your role, so will your responsibilities and compensation.

- You’ll continue to serve as a support advisor for several years.
- Your progress primarily depends on your interest, ability, and our team’s needs.
- In the long term, you may advance to a lead wealth advisor role or develop a successful career as a dedicated support advisor.
- This position will be on-site in our New Bern, NC headquarters.
- Note: While having you on-site Monday-Friday is ideal, we offer a flexible work environment for the optimal candidate with on-site hours depending on the client meeting schedule.
What You Can Expect
Immediately
- You’ll learn about our team, systems, philosophies, and planning process.
- You’ll work with your advisory team to help prepare for client meetings.
- You’ll attend client meetings with your senior advisor and take notes.
- You’ll debrief with your advisory team for 10-20 minutes after each client meeting to review actions and a meeting summary so everyone is on the same page.
- You’ll focus on learning, shadowing, and getting up to speed with our systems and processes.
Within Your First 6 Months
- You may be asked to pass the Series 65 exam, if necessary.
- You’ll become more comfortable with our financial planning software (Money Guide Elite, Holistiplan), CRM software (Advisor Engine, formerly Junxure), document management system (Citrix ShareFile), and portfolio tools (Orion, Red Black trading, and Schwab).
- You’ll learn to prioritize tasks with the help of your supervisor.
- You’ll become more comfortable responding to client emails, calls, and assigned tasks with the support of your team.
Within Your First Year
- If you haven’t already, you will likely take and pass the CFP® exam.
- You’ll continue to develop your relationships with our clients and take a more active role in communication with them before, during, and after client meetings.
- You’ll take increasingly more tasks off your senior advisor’s plate to support our clients.
- You’ll continue refining your abilities and interests and be empowered to take on additional responsibilities.
After Your First Year and Beyond
- You’ll continue to serve as a support advisor for several years, with your progress primarily depending on your interest and ability and our team’s needs.
- In the long term, you may have the opportunity to advance to a lead wealth advisor role or develop a successful career as a dedicated support advisor.

What to Expect
As a small and tight-knit team, you can expect a very thorough interview process to ensure we’re the right fit for each other.
