CHRISTINA BOLAND

Chief of Staff

As Chief of Staff, Christina is responsible for providing support to the firm’s CEO, David Blain, and serves as an interdepartmental liaison ensuring the firm’s management and communication operate smoothly to support all members of the BlueSky team.

Before moving to New Bern to join BlueSky, Christina lived and traveled between San Diego and Washington D.C. In D.C., she worked with an RIA, doing multi-layered facets and projects for the business.

What do you enjoy most about being part of BlueSky?

It brings me joy to work in an environment that genuinely values the relationship between client and team member across the board. I love being here because I get to work with this group of highly intelligent, proactive team members. Their excitement in serving our clients is at the core of how this BlueSky team shows up each day.

What does “improving the quality of our clients’ lives” mean to you?

People come to BlueSky seeking financial guidance, whatever the scope of their financial landscape. Depending on where they strive to go—or discover where they might go—it is our responsibility to provide a sacred space to receive sensitive information and help build a holistic path forward. This path will define how clients can reach their goals by providing clear direction and achievable steps throughout the planning process.

What keeps you busy when you’re not working?

I love to spend time with my incredibly active three-and-a-half-year-old son, Winston. We are both born water babies, which makes us a little clumsy on land. Yet, with open minds, we do love adventuring everywhere by land, sea, and air. We spend most of our time paddle-boarding, kayaking, beaching, riding bikes, diving, fishing, or just resting. As the oldest of 10 siblings, I enjoy catching up with my whole family whenever possible.

I love reading, being outdoors, traveling, taking road trips, and hiking with the dogs, but my pets keep me busy! My house is always full of pets and foster animals that keep me on my toes (dogs, cats, chickens, and reptiles currently!).

What do you enjoy most about being part of BlueSky?

The most fulfilling part of my job at BlueSky is the relationships that I form with our clients. I enjoy meeting new people and being part of our team that can help them with their current financial situation/needs/goals and relieve any stress or worries they might have. I especially like the strong connection I have with our widows.

What does “improving the quality of our clients’ lives” mean to you?

It means that we have actively helped make a decision that has helped move our clients away from a current lifestyle/situation into a better one. Perhaps they are letting go of something or changing old ways/habits with an intention to move toward something better, less stressful, and ultimately creating a peace of mind existence.

What keeps you busy when you’re not working?

I enjoy swimming and working out; relaxing by the pool and at the beach during the warm weather; visiting my four children and five grandchildren whenever possible; and dinner parties and wine tastings with friends.

Tiffany Cassell

Executive Administration Associate

Tiffany has worked part-time with BlueSky on a project basis throughout the years; however, we are eager to announce Tiffany will be joining the team full-time.

Tiffany will be responsible for providing administrative support and helping execute our sales and strategic plan. She will be coordinating special events and CEO functions. Tiffany will help with the day-to-day operations and general administration work for BlueSky.

Tiffany has been working in customer service since she was fourteen years old. She began answering phones and taking orders in a local pizza shop and continued to work in food service for many years while having other office jobs. She has always felt that working in food service prepared her for dealing with various situations among consumers.

In 2007, Tiffany began a career in insurance billing. She completed a certification in medical billing, CPB (Certified Professional Biller) through AAPC.

What do you enjoy most about being part of BlueSky?

I've enjoyed the positive atmosphere within the office since joining BlueSky. Even when the staff is busy with work, everyone remains cheerful and helpful. This kind of attitude is infectious, and I look forward to being a part of it.

What does "improving the quality of our clients' lives mean to you?"

"Improving the quality of our clients' lives" means providing them with a level of service they might not receive elsewhere. It seems that client service is no longer a top priority; however, I believe it needs to be a priority for businesses. Consumers want to feel that the people they're doing business with care about their needs - and how the rest of their day will go. A positive experience - whether an email, phone call, or simple text message - can turn around someone's day.

What keeps you busy when you're not working?

Usually, I would be busy planning my family's vacations for next year. I'm not quite planning that far ahead with all of the recent life changes.

Lately, I have been taking a deep dive into several history podcasts.

My family keeps busy with Cub Scout events as my son is finishing his last year before boy scouts and my husband, James, is the pack Cub Master. You could say my family is involved in scouting.

Anything else you want to make sure people know about you?

I am a big pop culture fan! I'm a massive fan of anything Marvel or Star Wars. Since I was a kid, I've read comic books, and Marvel movies were my new rock concert. My family and I go to the movies on opening weekend (sometimes twice). Once my brother had watched the movie, we began to text about what it could mean for future movies. Sometimes, I can get a little overzealous when talking about these things because of my passion and have to get reigned in.
